Question 4/5 in Batteries FAQs

Question: What is the warranty on a battery?

Answer:

The warranty on most batteries is 24 months.

This warranty covers manufacturing defects, such as a defective cell in the battery or if the battery “crashes” during startup. To avoid disappointment, we state a warranty period of 6 months because manufacturing defects almost always surface within 6 months.

If a battery fails after 6 months, this is almost always due to user error or consequential damage, which unfortunately is not covered by the warranty. If you discharge a battery too deeply, it will almost always fail.

If the battery fails after 6 months, we would always like to see and test the battery. Testing a battery is free unless it turns out not to be defective, in which case a €7.50 testing fee will be charged. In all cases, we will attempt to file a warranty claim with the manufacturer, but this is only successful if the issue is a manufacturing defect in the battery. For the majority of warranty claims filed after the first 6 months, the defect will not be covered under warranty.

Of course, we don’t like this, but we cannot deviate from the manufacturer’s warranty terms. That is why we try to inform our customers as clearly as possible. The warranty terms are virtually the same for all battery suppliers and manufacturers.
